How is Maxi Gomez going?

I know its early but could this be a bullet we inadvertently managed to dodge? Dont these things when it comes to West Ham usually go athe other way...........
Gomez has barely kicked a ball for struggling Valencia, is already being questioned by the club’s fans and has now seen the manager who pushed the boat out to sign him sacked.

Whether or not its a bullet dodged, its definitely one that's worked out for us, Haller is an excellent player with a great attitude.
We've had a result, best signing of the summer in Europe according to whoscored

Was impressed with that great attitude of Haller at the Norwich game, seeing things you dont normally see when watching on TV, him trot around the stadium applauding the fans after the game, was the last player off the pitch i think.
Seen him interviewed a few times and very impressed not only with the attitude, he speaks very good English, is very focused and obviously a very intellagent bloke, especially for a footballer!

Very impressed with Haller. Perfect signing for us, really.
It’s a bit early to say about Gomez. He’s just missed a few games for whatever reason. Could be a clash of personalities or the incumbent strikers playing well. Who knows.

Like most I judge these players on clips having not known them from a bar of soap previously.
Once I saw Haller you good tell he was more mobile and had a better first touch than Gomez so Valencia did us an enormous favour by getting him ahead of us.
As we play more with Haller I hope we get better at playing balls across the box as he is good at finding space.
Like the way he works hard to hold and win the ball and gets himself in the box.
Carroll used to drive me crazy by playing a ball and then standing and watching.

Yep we had a but luck with the whole process, unusual for us, but ending up with Haller was the best outcome. Not sure I would want many other strikers in his bracket really,
Was reading earlier that Bayern made a late bid for Haller but vaulted the price, thank fuck for that.

Ah well. I’m happy with what we’ve got in Haller. Not going to gloat if Gomez isn’t working out with his new club. Just glad it’s not us for once.

I was saying the other day, I’m absolutely delighted we didn’t get him. Haller is a much more complete player and better suited to the prem.

Haller fits perfectly into our team. I loved his goal where Anderson pinched the ball off him on the edge of the box and he made his run into the six yard box. A real striker’s goal.

Early days, but not going well for Gomez
Valencia just sacked their manager and need to appoint a new one. Valencia have played 3 games and have won, drawn and lost to have 4 points, mid-table. Gomez has not played an entire game, missed the 1st, started the 2nd and was subbed and came on as a sub in the 3rd. No goals yet. In the game he started, Valencia lost to his old club Vigo.
Today Valencia are away to Barca, usually an entertaining game and could be good to see what sort of player Gomez is... if he plays!

Let's not gloat just yet. Haller is one awkward tackle from being out for the rest of the season, as all players are. Gomez has an entire season ahead of him.
I think Haller is a great player but don't tempt fate.

Who would be surprised if Haller, Lanzini, Anderson & Diop (maybe) would be in their respective national team lineups come end of season? Personally I hope night in case they get Payet syndrome!
